Flea Treatment

Fleas (Siphonaptera) are normally found on pets and domestic animals but may be found amongst humans where there are poor hygiene conditions.

They can be found in areas where pets sleep and along any favourite running or walking spots, however this is not always the case as fleas can jump great distances or fall off pets and be found in cracks and crevices. Fleas will bite pets and humans to lay eggs, and they carry a variety of diseases that can be transmitted to humans and pets.

While a pet is the responsibility of the owner to be treated, Bidvest Steiner will advise of treatment actions such as vacuuming before to pick up all eggs, larvae, and adult fleas. Once that has been completed a blanket spray treatment indoors and outdoors focusing on areas that fleas are likely to be the treatment of pets and their bedding in a hot water cycle must coincide and be conducted on the same day as the flea treatment to avoid re-contamination.
