Dishwashing The Right Way

Few things are as dreadful as having to wash a pile of dirty dishes. Getting through that Everest is certainly an ordeal.  If you are one of those people who loathe this chore just as much as us or if you’re just need some help to raise your dish-washing  game, here is the perfect  piece for you. Have a look at these helpful tips and tricks to put your dishwashing woes to bed

Start With The Gloves

Get a pair of dishwashing gloves – they will protect your skin from drying out and they can also protect your hands from, rogue knives, very hot water or protect your hands from becoming pruny. A bonus factor is, it gives you a better grip to hold on to wet and slippery dishes.

Use A Dish Tub

When you washing the dishes in a plastic dish tub as opposed to one at a time under the tap, it will save time and water.

Wipe The Food Off ASAP

This may sound a bit obvious but it is a practice that is seldom practiced and results in your work load being intensified. The longer you leave old food to sit on your plate, the longer it will take for you to remove it. When you leave the plate to sit, food drys and it bonds with the plate.

The Water Must Be HOT

Ensure that you are using very hot water. The hotter the water is, the better it will be for washing as the raised temperature will break down the food particles as well as the grease. This will also help your glassware to dry without spots.

Soak It Up

Soak your dishes in a solution filled with hot water and dishwashing liquid. Let it soak for at least an hour. For a bit of extra mild abrasion, throw in a little bit of baking soda to add some mild abrasion and presto! When you are ready to wash, the dirt will come off a lot easier. No mess. No fuss

Get A Good Sponge

A good sponge should never be underestimated in terms of how much off an ally it can be when you tackle dirty dishes. Look for  an efficient sponge, one that is non-scratching and great at stripping the dirt of your dishes, especially those pesky stubborn bits which refuse to leave quietly.

Tackle The Burned Pots

Your pots that have burnt bottoms should be filled with cold water and 2 or 3 tablespoons of salt. Allow it to sit overnight with the solution. The next day, slowly bring the water to a boil. Very soon the burn marks should disappear. If it does not happen immediately, repeat a few times and then wash as normal.
